    Free Show in VB: “Manufacturing Stoke” Surf Movie with Music From Grant Austin Taylor & Karl Werne

    Global Surf Network presents a special Virginia Surf Film Music Event. Join them Friday night (November 18, 2011) at Wicker’s Crab Pot located on Indian River Road – Chesapeake, VA from 7:00pm – 11:00pm. Live music will also be provided by Grant Austin Taylor and Karl Werne. They will also provide a collection box for any donations of canned foods for our Hatteras Island food drive . Everyone in the Outer Banks has been affected in a serious way from Hurricane Irene and we would like to help them through the holidays.

    Veteran’s Fundraiser at Whalebone Surf Shop on 11/11/11

    Jim & April Vaughn invite you to their 11/11/11 Veteran’s Day Fundraiser which will be held at the Whalebone Surf Shop in Nags Head. Proceeds to benefit The Wounded Warriors and The Blue Star Mothers. There will be a $10 raffle for a 6’1″ Channel Island Surftech Kelly Slater Model Surfboard donated by Whalebone Surf Shop and a 7’3″ 22″x3″ 7S Superfish Donated by Global Surf Industries. $1 and $5 Raffles also available for tons of other prizes from your favorite surf brands. Raffle tickets are now on sale at all Whalebone Surf Shops. The fundraiser starts from 11am (naturally) on Nov. 11, 2011 and will run until 2pm.

    The Mustang Music Festival in Corolla Saturday, November 12

    Wow… where to begin. If you like good live music, you should go to this. If you like horses, you should support this. If you like listening to music while riding horses, then there’s no better place to be. Mike Dianna’s Grill Room is hosting a HUGE music festival to help benefit the Corolla Wild Horse Fund and Food For Thought with some great musical acts like: Donna the Buffalo, The Pimps of Joytime, Tom Principato Band, Mercy Creek, The Critters Band, End of the World Blues Band, Hound Dogs Family Band, Paul Rowlen Project, Natalie Wolfe, Andy Begina, The Brass Roots Swill Band and more.     3rd Annual Southern Shores Throwdown (Video Recap)

    “Bring a Friend to a Surf Contest” this Saturday, October 22, at Jennette’s Pier

    Atlantic Surfing Federation NC Chapter will be holding “Bring a Friend to a Surf Contest” this Saturday, October 22, at Jennette’s Pier/Gulfstream Beach Access at 8am. This contest is open to all surfers. If you become a member of ASF by October 31st, you will starting receiving points to help you qualify for the US Championship to be held in June 2012. Also, points will help you qualify for the ASF East Coast Championship to be held in October 2012 at Jennette’s Pier. It is not too late to become a member, and with global points you can surf any chapter of the ASF and get points to help you qualify. Entry forms and drop boxes are located at WRV’s and Whalebone Surf shops. Pick up will be Thursday afternoon or you may enter online at http://nc.atlanticsurfing.org/competition/ though Thursday night. Beach registration will be limited and on a first come first serve basis starting at 7:30 am.
    ASF offers many programs for all surfers…To take their surfing to the next level!!! Micro-groms (parent assist), Under 10 (for those who are ready to compete but still want an adult in the water for just in case),  Macro-groms (for those who have never surfed a competition before), and Cash for Open division!!!

    9th Annual Outer Banks International Wine Festival This Weekend

    Native Vine and Trio present the 9th Annual Outer Banks International Wine and Beer Festival. The event will kick off on Saturday Oct. 15th and Sunday Oct. 16th from 12-5pm at Native Vine in Point Harbor. 50+ Wines and Beers to taste, plus 2 Bands Daily. Saturday band lineup: Nick and Adrienne then The Houndogs. Sunday music lineup: Ask Fester then Mercy Creek. Tickets are $25 advance, $30 the day of the event.
