November 25 & 26 provided a great run of waves up and down the banks. Here’s a few sequence shots submitted by Bob Hovey (Duck Village Outfitters) of surfer, Dallas Tolson getting shacked in Buxton.

Due to bad weather, the 2011 NC Big Sweep was canceled back in September and is now rescheduled for TODAY! Saturday, November 19 from 9am-12 noon. This year will be the 25th Annual Big Sweep across North Carolina. Dare County residents have been strong supporters of the event since its inception in 1987. Given Hurricane Irene and the extra cleanup needed along our coast and inland waterways, it is our hope for this event to be even stronger than years past. Please visit one of the below zone locations for your bags, cleanup gear, and direction on where to clean.

    Bonnett Street
    KDH Bath House
    Jennette’s Pier
    Southern Shores Fire Department
    NC Aquarium
Kitty Hawk Kayak & Surf School
    Kitty Hawk Bath House
    Nags Head Town Hall
    Pea Island Visitor Center
    Coquina Beach Bath House
    Chickahauk Beach Access

After the cleanup, make sure you visit The Outer Banks Brewing Station for “Trashfest” – from Noon – 4pm and enjoy food, drinks and live music from SOULone. Bring your bag of trash and information card and get in FREE.

Should you have any questions please contact Scott Lawrence at (252) 441-0581 or via email at Scott@boldprintdesign.com.

Looks like some decent swell starting to fill in from T.S. Sean – now located just WSW of Bermuda with winds in the 55-65 knots range. Nothing major but definitely head high to overhead sets rolling in with a long period ground swell. Looks like today will be questionable with wind directions skirting out of the NNW for Northern Beaches but tomorrow could be fun. Check the report page for details.

Slater, 39, is the first surfer to achieve 11 ASP World Titles, an accomplishment spanning two decades of an astounding career during which he has dominated competitive surfing as both the youngest and oldest ASP World Champion.

I couldn’t resist posting this photo that was taken somewhere in-town on the Outer Banks by Head Lifeguard David Elder.  This photo was posted on facebook (OBX Surf Info) and the best caption wins a T-shirt and some stickers. Here are the finalists…
Nick Collakides swim between the red and yellow flags.
Todd Stanley If you’re going to be the surf dog around her, you need to grab the mustard and catch-up!
Kate Lawton Weneta this is what happens when you put saltwater on those mail order sea monkeys.

    And the Winner is…..

Jerry Kudlak ‎”have you seen our buckets? We can’t find them anywhere”
