Thanks to all who put this fundraising event together to raise money for those in need on Hatteras Island. Hurricane Irene wrecked the place and many are still suffering. If you are still considering a donation, please contact Liberty Christian Church at 252-441-6592.

As many know, Hurricane Irene was a devastating storm that ripped right up the Pamlico and Albamarle Sound flooding everything in site. Even though it was only a category 1 storm, it’s destruction was beyond repair. Many folks South of Oregon Inlet are still suffering from damage with a much anticipated bridge that’s slated to open this Tuesday. The people on Hatteras Island need your help. This Saturday (October 15) from 12 noon to 7pm, Outer Banks Boarding Company is hosting a Hurricane Irene relief benefit with all proceeds being donated to locals affected by the storm. There will be both live and silent auctions for new surfboards from Patagonia, Firewire and Super plus Wetsuits from Hurley, Patagonia and Rip Curl. There will also be live music provided by The Delimiters,  Jesse Hines and Corissa Snyder.  Food will also be provided by Pizzazz Pizza and High Cotton BBQ.  Come out and enjoy a great day for a great cause!  You can also visit the official  facebook page and let them know your attending by clicking HERE.  Click HERE for directions

The OBX Pro is a $30,000 Profesional Surfing Event held in the Outer Banks every year. Part of the Western Atlantic Surf Series. The first Outer Banks Pro took place at Kitty Hawk Pier in the early 2000′s. Since the beginning, Wave Riding Vehicles has stood for surfing and spreading it’s Aloha throughout the world.  They continue to support professional surfing in all of its forms. With the new construction of Jennette’s Pier, backed by the North Carolina Aquarium, WRV has the unique opportunity to run one of the most core surf contests in the region. Last year saw the largest purse ever brought to the East Coast. The Wave Riding Vehicles Outer Banks Pro Presented by Hurley with a total purse of $30,500 in prize money looks to be another hit this year! Special thanks to all the amazing sponsors; Hurley, Dragon Optics, Kona Brewing Company, Silmar, Arialite, Surfer, Eastern Surf Magazine, 99.1 The Sound and Charter Media.
